On the morning of October 27, 2021, the third phase of the Pancreas Center Grand Round "Master Round" was successfully held in the conference hall of the new outpatient building of Jiangsu Provincial People's Hospital (The First Affiliated Hospital of Nanjing Medical University). Professor Tang Jinhai, Secretary of the Party Committee of Jiangsu Provincial People's Hospital, Professor Miao Yi of Pancreas Center, Professor Wu Yanhu, Director of General Surgery, and Director Chen Xi of the Hospital Office attended the event. Professor Shuyan Peng is a surgical consultant in the Second Affiliated Hospital of Zhejiang University School of Medicine and Run Run Run Run Shaw Hospital, Zhejiang University School of Medicine. At the same time, he is also an Honorary Fellow of the American College of Surgeons, an Honorary Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons, an Honorary Fellow of the European Academy of Surgeons, an Honorary Fellow of the French Academy of Surgeons, and an honorary chairman of the Pancreatic Cancer Branch of the Chinese Anti-Cancer Association. As an honorary academician of the four countries, Professor Peng Shuyan has been teaching medicine for more than 60 years and has achieved fruitful results in the field of hepatobiliary and pancreatic surgery. His two medical inventions: curettage surgical anatomy and bundled pancreaticojejunostomy have had a profound impact on the field of surgery in my country. The "Multifunctional Surgical Dissector" (PMOD) invented by Professor Peng frees the hands of surgeons and makes it possible to perform the operation of hepatic caudate lobe cancer, which is regarded as an intractable disease. In today's lecture, Professor Shuyan Peng shared his secrets on the simplification of complex surgery to the audience. By enumerating a few cases he has diagnosed and treated, Professor Peng earnestly shared his working principles and methods with the doctors present here: always put the patient’s interests first; observe carefully to discover the problem, think repeatedly to analyze the problem, and in-depth study to solve it. At the end of the lecture, Professor Peng also shared some of the sentences that had a great influence on him during his medical career, and shared his encouragement with younger generations, and put forward: Success-to achieve others, the merits of future generations.
