The pancreas center biobank of the first affiliated hospital of nanjing medical university was honored to invite professor William Greenhalf from the university of Liverpool to visit the biobank. This is professor Greenhalf's second visit as our biobank consultant.
     Professor Greenhalf is the executive director of the GCLP laboratory of surgery at the university of Liverpool and the director of the pancreas biobank. on September 12th, Dr. Lu zipeng, executive director of the pancreas biobank, introduced the current status of the library to professor Greenhalf, with the focus on progress of the library in the aspects of regulations, document system, workflow and scientific research transformation. Professor Greenhalf listened to the report very carefully, and put forward his own opinions and suggestions on the quality construction and strategy of the next step. Subsequently, professor Miao Yi, director of the pancreas center, received professor Greenhalf in his office to exchange views on future cooperation and research exchanges, and agreed to maintain the tradition of close cooperation between the bilateral pancreas teams.
     The next morning, professor Greenhalf observed the clinical sample processing method and heard a report on the biobank management software and biobank APP by Dr.Tian Lei. After the report, professor Greenhalf showed great interest in the APP of the pancreas biobank and hoped to further cooperate with our center in this regard.
     The construction of biobank and clinical information database, as well as the translational medicine research based on them, are the top priorities for the development of the pancreas center of the first affiliated hospital of Nanjing medical university. Professor William Greenhalf’s visit is one of the contents of the construction of biobank in 2017.
