The second World Pancreas Forum on June 22, 2017 was held in Bern, Switzerland. With the invitation of the conference, prof. miao yi, Fellow of American College of Surgeons and royal college of surgeons of the United Kingdom, attended the conference together with Dr. Xiao bin, deputy director of the center and Dr. Lu zipeng.
This conference included 33 invited speeches, 60 posters and 2 videos of surgical procedures, covering pancreatic cancer, translational medicine of the pancreas, chronic pancreatitis and acute pancreatitis, etc., and in-depth discussions on the latest progress of related professional directions and hot issues.
As the only special guest from China, professor Miao delivered a lecture on "treatment of pancreatitis" and performed a presentation”ARTERY DIVESTment for Locally Advanced Pancreatic Cancer”. Dr.Miao suggests that arterial invasion should be classified by depth rather than circumference, which aroused strong interest. Moreover, a total of 10 posters form our Pancreas Center were included, among which Dr.Lu received a Travel Grant award.

Professor Miao was also invited by professor Büchler, director of Heidelberg university surgical hospital in Germany, to visited Heidelberg university again. During the visit, they exchanged views on pancreatic cancer surgery, pancreatitis surgery and endoscopic treatment of pancreatic diseases.
