On October 22, 2017, San Diego ushered in the 103rd Annual Meeting of the American College of Surgeons (ACS). Surgeons from all over the world gathered together, which is indeed the global annual meeting of surgeons. The American College of Surgeons was founded in 1913, bringing together the most prominent experts in the field of surgery. It currently has more than 80,000 members, including more than 6,600 foreign members, and is the world's largest surgeon organization. From Chicago to San Diego, Professor Yi Miao from the Pancreas Center of the First Affiliated Hospital of Nanjing Medical University has been invited to two ACS meetings giving speeches titled "Technical Modification in Pylorus-Preserving Pancreatoduodectomy (PPPD)", "Risk prediction for pancreatic fistula and risk-stratified strategy for prophylactic drainage after Whipple procedure".
In addition, Professor Kuirong Jiang of our Center gave two speeches at the conference: "Prognostic nomogram for resected pancreatic adenocarcinoma", "Artery-First Pancreaticoduodenectomy with Resection and Reconstruction of Replaced Right Hepatic Artery (RRHA)". The research results of the Pancreas Center of our hospital were exchanged with international colleagues. It is very rare for one center to present 5 studies at the ACS meeting.
