Pancreas Center Showed Presence on the 2016 European Pancreatic Club Conference

Prof. Miao Yi of Pancreas Center lead Dai Cuncai, Jiang Kuirong, Wu Junli, Wei Jishu and Lu Zipeng to attend the 2016 European Pancreatic Club (EPC) Conference in Liverpool, Britain on July 3, 2016 in response to the invitation of Prof. John P. Neoptolemos, Director of Pancreatic Surgery of University of Liverpool and the Chairman of 2016 EPC Conference. EPC was founded in 1965 as an European academic team focusing on pancreatic disease. The famous ESPAC clinical studies were initiated and carried out by major members of EPC. EPC's annual conference is also the most European academic conference of pancreatic diseases.




The Conference included basic and clinical research of pancreatic diseases, and a total of over 600 representatives from more than 30 countries and regions attended the Conference. It was held in the famous St George's Hall in Liverpool, Britain, which was built in 1840 and was regarded as the best model of neoclassical architecture in Europe. Prof. Miao Yi, Director of Pancreas Center of the First Affiliated Hospital with Nanjing Medical University, was an invited Academic Committee Member (the only one in China) of the Conference. He delivered a report called "Expectations from high volume pancreatic surgery" and presided over the pancreatic surgery session. It is worth mentioning that Prof. Miao YI also participated in the formulation of Chronic Pancreatitis: IAP/EPC/APA/JPS Guidelines Development as an invited expert, achieving Chinese pancreatic surgery's breakthrough in the international field of pancreatic diseases, and enhancing the international academic reputation of Nanjing Medical University and the First Affiliated Hospital with Nanjing Medical University.
