On December 19, 2015, Pancreas Center of the First Affiliated Hospital with Nanjing Medical University held a national ERAS practice, visiting and exchange meeting. A total of 80 physicians and nurses from all over the country paid a visit to our Center.
During the visiting in the afternoon of December 19, Prof. Miao Yi gave a welcome address first, and then Prof. Jiang Kuirong, Prof. Li Qiang and Head Nurse Fang Xiaoping from Pancreas Center, Prof. Liu Cunming from Anesthesiology and Physician Hu Jing from Pharmacy Department delivered lectures on ERAS, respectively.
During the visit to the ward, all visitors were grouped into four batches to pay a visit to Ward I and Ward II, respectively. After listening to the introduction of ward doctors and nurses, the visitors still remained confused about ERAS's specific operations. The doctors and nurses answered all questions in great patience and also allowed them to take a picture of the ERAS processes shown on the ward wall for their reference. They even played the teaching video taken by the Pancreas Center itself. The visitors extended unanimous praises for the current achievements made by the Center.
The activity also attracted a lot of media to broadcast it, including Xinhua News Agency, Dingxiangyuan, Xinhuanet, Longhu Network, JSCHINA.COM.CN, Jinling Hotline, Modern Express and Nanjing Morning Post. Our Center began to implement ERAS program since January 1, 2015. As a Center who engaged in ERAS practice in an early time in China, we have accumulated rich clinical practical experience in the optimized analgesia and perioperative management after pancreatic surgery, reaching the domestic leading level, and gradually formed a unique practice model that enables the joint management of Pancreas Center, Pain Management and Pharmacy Department and the integration of medical care work.
