The 1st Jinling Pancreas Forum & Advanced Class of Pancreatic Diseases was Held in Nanjing

     “The 1st Jinling Pancreas Forum & Advanced Class of Pancreatic Diseases” was held in Nanjing on April 17th. Academician Li Jieshou of Nanjing General Hospital; Professor John P.Neoptolemos, the director of the Pancreas Center of Liverpool University; Professor Jens Werner of University of Munich; and Doctor William Greenhalf, the director of the Pancreatic Biological Specimen Bank of Liverpool University and many well-known experts in pancreatic diseases from China and foreign countries were invited to deliver special reports in the conference.

    The conference is about the multi-disciplinary cooperation in pancreatic diseases, including the contents of pancreatic surgery, GI medicine, endoscopy, oncology, radiology and pathology. Nearly 500 representatives across China attended the conference. Profound discussions regarding currently controversial topics of pancreatic diseases were held in the conference. Meanwhile, the interactions of the conference were strengthened with the mechanisms of WeChat and voting machines. Also, there was live streaming of pancreatic operations. Participants expressed that they have gained a lot in the Forum and it will bring good news for pancreatic disease patients.

Professor Miao Yi was holding the opening ceremony.

Professor John P. Neoptolemes, the director of the Pancreas Center of Liverpool University was giving the lecture, Necrotizing Pancreatitis.

Professor Jens Werner of University of Munich was giving the special lecture, Pancreatic Cancer – Standard and Extended Resections.

Academician Li Jieshou was giving a special lecture regarding the diagnosis and treatment of severe acute portal vein thrombosis of pancreatitis.

Professor Chen Xiaoping was giving a special lecture of performing pancreaticojejunostomy with U-shaped suture across pancreas.
