To keep up with the frontier research of pancreatic diseases, improve the health level of Jiangsu people and strengthen the integration of scientific and clinical strengths in the construction of medical science and technology innovation system in our University, Pancreas Research Institute of Nanjing Medical University was established on December 9, 2014 in Jiangsu Province Hospital.

        Professor Miao Yi, Head of Pancreas Center, said that pancreatic diseases have become one of the major threats to human being's health. Based on new research methods and means, Pancreas Center establishes an early diagnosis and prevention system for pancreatic diseases, which will help to reduce the morbidity and mortality rates of these diseases. Pancreatic disease research will become a focus in the domestic and international medical circles.

        The major tasks of the newly established Institute include the researches on pancreatic immunology, pancreatic bioinformatics, pancreatic structural biology, pancreatic drug design techniques, systematic testing, diagnosis and immunotherapy techniques of pancreatic diseases, and clinical translational research of serious diseases.
