On September 13, 2014, on the 25th Anniversary of the College of Surgeons of Hong Kong and the Combined Certificate Awarding Ceremony of the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh and the College of Surgeons of Hong Kong, our young doctor Lu Zipeng was awarded the dual membership (MCSHK and MRCSEd) of the College of Surgeons of Hong Kong and the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh. He was thus became one of the first batch of young surgeons of General Surgery in Mainland China who enjoyed this title.

     The Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh is one of the most ancient colleges of surgeons in the world. Currently, it owns over 20,000 members all over the world. There are two kinds of memberships: Member and Fellow, which are generally accepted by the Western colleges of surgeons and represent the owner's abilities and level in surgery. General Surgery and Urology Surgery of Jiangsu Province Hospital became basic and advanced surgical training base of the College of Surgeons of Hong Kong and the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh in 2010. After that, several surgeons of our Hospital went to Hong Kong to attend the membership examination. After two years of efforts, our doctor Lu Zipeng successfully passed all three stages of the membership examination and finally won the title through application.
