On October 11-14, 2018, the Nanjing Pancreas Forum 2018, co-sponsored by Jiangsu Provincial Health and Family Planning Commission and Pancreatic Center of the First Affiliated Hospital of Nanjing Medical University, was held in Nanjing International Youth Conference Center in Jiangsu. Over 20 top experts in the field of pancreatic diseases from top academic institutions including Germany, the United States, the United Kingdom, Switzerland, Japan, Italy and India, including Heidelberg University, Harvard University, Johns Hopkins University, gathered in Nanjing in October.

The "Pancreas 2018" conference was held on April 26, 2018 at Johns Hopkins Hospital in the United States. The Pancreas Conference is an international conference on pancreas. It is held every two years. This time, the conference is hosted by Johns Hopkins Hospital.

On October 31, the review of the Royal College of Surgeons of England (RCS) and the awarding ceremony for Professor Yi Miao as FRCS was held in the new building of the First Affiliated Hospital of Nanjing Medical University. On the day of the meeting, Professor O'Flynn, Chairman of the RCS Surgical Committee, Professor Nazir, Director of Quality Assurance and Certification, and Professor Nanu made a special trip to Nanjing to inspect the surgical training course in our hospital and specially issued a FRCS certificate to Professor Miao Yi. Vice President of our hospital Dr. Yiyang Zhan, Director Binhai Zhu, Professor Zekuan Xu, Professor Yueming Sun, Professor Kuirong Jiang, and Professor Wentao Gao attended the meeting.

The 3rd Jinling pancreas forum, sponsored by the society of pancreatology of Jiangsu medical association and organized by the pancreas center of the first affiliated hospital of Nanjing medical university, was held in nanjing from 14th to 16th september.

At the invitation of professor Miao Yi, on September 15, professor He Jin and Yu Jun from the department of hepatobiliary and pancreatic surgery, Johns Hopkins university hospital, United States, attended the 3rd Jinling pancreas forum and gave the follwing presentations: pancreatic cancer:Are we making progress "and" circulating tumor cells and circulating tumor DNA as biomarkers to predict prognosis and monitor treatment response in patients with pancreatic cancer".
