From October 25 to October 30, Professor Miao Yi (Director of Pancreas Center of the First Affiliated Hospital with Nanjing Medical University) and Doctor Wei Jishu were invited by Professor Castillo (Director of Surgery Department of Massachusetts General Hospital Affiliated to Harvard University) and Professor Saluja (APA Secretary) to attend the 47th Annual Meeting of APA. This was the second time for Pancreas Center of the First Affiliated Hospital with Nanjing Medical University to be invited to attend APA's annual meeting.

“The 2nd Jinling Pancreas Forum” was held in Nanjing from September 9th to 11th.

Prof. Miao Yi of Pancreas Center lead Dai Cuncai, Jiang Kuirong, Wu Junli, Wei Jishu and Lu Zipeng to attend the 2016 European Pancreatic Club (EPC) Conference in Liverpool, Britain on July 3, 2016 in response to the invitation of Prof. John P. Neoptolemos, Director of Pancreatic Surgery of University of Liverpool and the Chairman of 2016 EPC Conference.

 On July 2nd, the 3rd “We Are All in This Together for Life” Pancreatic Disease Patient Gathering was held in the First Affiliated Hospital of Nanjing Medical University. Attending patients were enthusiastic despite the heavy rain.

The delegation of the Pancreas Center of the First Affiliated Hospital of Nanjing Medical University also attended the 30th Annual Meeting of American Pancreas Club (APC), which was held in San Diego from May 19th to 21st during their trip to the US. Founded in 1966, APC held the 50th anniversary meeting in celebration of their establishment. All members are / were experienced surgeons, including many historically famous masters, such as Cameron, Warshaw and Beger.

The annual Digestive Disease Week (DDW) was held in San Diego, the US, from May 21st to 24th 2016. DDW gathers digestive disease doctors and researchers around the country and the world. The topic of this year was “Catch the Next Wave in Science & Medicine”.

On February 26, on the provincial science and technology award ceremony held by Jiangsu CPPCC, the Pancreas Center lead by Prof. Miao Yi won the First Prize of 2015 Jiangsu Provincial Science and Technology Progress Awards with its program "Innovation of Key Diagnosis and Treatment Techniques for Pancreatic Cancer and Its Application". Luo Zhijun (Secretary of Jiangsu Provincial Party Committee), Shi Taifeng (Governor of Jiangsu Province) and Zhang Lianzhen (Chairman of Jiangsu CPPCC) attended the Conference and presented awards to the winners.

On Sunday of February 21, 2016, on the "Annals of Surgery China: Clinical Case and Treatment Idea Surgery Video Contest" held by Chinese Journal of Surgery in Zhuhai, Prof. Jiang Kuirong, Deputy Director of Pancreas Center won the First Prize with his video "Radical Antegrade Modular Pancreatosplenectomy (RAMPS) Combined with Resection of the Celiac Trunk. It won recognition of all judges on site and showed our comprehensive strength to the peers of pancreatic surgery.

On December 19, 2015, Pancreas Center of the First Affiliated Hospital with Nanjing Medical University held a national ERAS practice, visiting and exchange meeting. A total of 80 physicians and nurses from all over the country paid a visit to our Center.

The 46th Annual Meeting of American Pancreatic Association (APA) was held in San Diego of California on November 4, 2015.

On October 8, after attending the annual meeting of American Colleges of Surgeons (ACS), Prof. Miao Yi, Prof. Jiang Kuirong and Doctor Lu Zipeng were also invited to pay an exchange visit to University of Missouri.

In the afternoon of June 17, the awarding ceremony of Pancreas Research Institute and Pancreatic Diseases Key Laboratory of Nanjing Medical University was held in Suiyue Pavilion of Wutaishan Campus of Nanjing Medical University.

“The 1st Jinling Pancreas Forum & Advanced Class of Pancreatic Diseases” was held in Nanjing on April 17th.

A total of 501 pancreatic operations of various sorts were performed in the Pancreas Center of the First Affiliated Hospital of Nanjing Medical University from January to June 2014.

To keep up with the frontier research of pancreatic diseases, improve the health level of Jiangsu people and strengthen the integration of scientific and clinical strengths in the construction of medical science and technology innovation system in our University, Pancreas Research Institute of Nanjing Medical University was established on December 9, 2014 in Jiangsu Province Hospital.

The 39th Biennial Meeting of International College of Surgeons (ICS) was held in Bali Winston Hotel of Indonesia from October 21, 2014 to October 23, 2014. Professor Miao Yi delivered a speech titled "Techniques for Pancreatic Surgery" and aroused great repercussions. After the Q&A link was finished, a lot of foreign peers surrounded Professor Miao Yi and continued with the discussions.

On September 13, 2014, on the 25th Anniversary of the College of Surgeons of Hong Kong and the Combined Certificate Awarding Ceremony of the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh and the College of Surgeons of Hong Kong, our young doctor Lu Zipeng was awarded the dual membership (MCSHK and MRCSEd) of the College of Surgeons of Hong Kong and the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh.

Professor Miao Yi and Professor Jiang Kuirong were invited to attend the 2014 DDW held in Chicago, Illinois from May 3, 2014 to May 6, 2014.

On the weekly meeting of Our Hospital on September 1, 2014, Prof. Miao Yi, the Director of Pancreas Center delivered a speech on work progress of the Center. President Wang Hong awarded the plague to Prof. Miao Yi .

On November 28, 2013, Surgical Department Head Professor Buchler and liver transplantation Professor Shemmer from Heidelberg University paid a six-day visit to our hospital and attended the Seventh Pancreatic Surgery Conference of Jiangsu Province.

From June 23, 2014 to July 4, 2014, Professor Miao Yi led Director Jiang Kuirong, Director Gao Wentao and Doctor Wei Jishu to visit German Pancreatic Tumor Center and Surgery Center of University of Munich and delivered the surgical experience of our Hospital.

The Seventh Pancreatic Surgery Conference of Jiangsu Province, sponsored by Surgery Department of Pancreas Center of Jiangsu Province Hospital, was successfully held in Yangzhou from November 29, 2013 to December 1, 2013.
